According to the Kodály Center's house rules, with the exception of children's and youth concerts, children under the age of 5 are not allowed to attend events in the Kodály Center's concert hall. For safety reasons, children under the age of 10 or under 130 cm tall are not allowed on the balcony level of the concert hall.

MacArthur Fellow and three-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Cécile McLorin Salvant Is going to perform at the Kodály Centre in May 2026 as part of a tour, presenting her latest album, Oh Snap offering a unique atmosphere.
The winner of the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocal Competition will visit Pécs for the first time to give an unforgettable jazz concert with her quartet. It promises to be a true musical journey, bringing to life Cécile’s childhood in 1990s Miami, from boy-band pop and grunge to classical music and folk.
CECILE MCLORIN SALVANT
Her parents are of Haitian and French origin. She began playing the piano at the age of five and studying classical singing at eight, later going on to study Baroque music and improvisation in France. Among jazz singers, she has been most influenced by Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith and Ella Fitzgerald.
She released her first solo album in 2010. Most recently, she released an album in 2025, her eighth studio album to date.
She won first prize at the Thelonious Monk Festival (Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition) in 2010, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2013 (Best Jazz Vocal Album), and in 2014 received DownBeat honours (Star – Jazz Artist, and Rising Star – Female Vocalist).
She has won three Grammy Awards.
